New post coming soon!!

It's been very busy since my last post! This past weekend, my husband hosted a bachelor party at our house. So I had to be out of the house all evening long! Well, that meant Girl's Night Out!! And Girl's Night Out means SHOPPING!!! So I've got some new outfits coming soon! Until then, I saw this picture on Facebook the other day and it really spoke to me. I've had some things really discourage me this week and I've honestly felt like quitting. But then I saw this and knew... It's gonna be ok. Take heart and know that the Lord is with you. Even when others are discouraging you, The Lord will rejoice and sing over you. Isn't that amazing? Thank you Jesus!

1 Dress... Endless Possibilities!

A couple of weeks ago, I was shopping at a local boutique and I came across this beautiful leopard skirt. Well, once I got it home, much to my surprise, it turned out to not only be a skirt, but a maxi dress! The possibilities with this dress, and any other maxi dress are endless! But here are a couple to get your wheels turning.

I have to say, this outfit is probably my favorite of the three. Not only is it cute, but very comfortable!  The tangerine color looks great with leopard. The shirt is from JCPenny's. It is flowy and a little see through, so I have a black tank underneath. I paired it with a gold Gianni Bini heel from Dillard's.

This outfit is a more casual, shopping, out to lunch kind of outfit. For more coverage on top, wear a tank top underneath the dress. Here, I've got on a simple black lace tank. Worried about the dress slipping down? Here's a great tip: Use a safety pin to secure the dress to each of your bra straps. Jean jacket is from Forever 21, sparkly gold flats are from NY&Company.

A black cardigan is a staple that every woman needs in her wardrobe. I got this one from TJ Maxx. With this dress, the black was great, but the pops of red gave it a fun twist. The red lace tank top is from Stein Mart. I think I have one of these in every color! They are great because you can adjust them to cover up as much as you need. The red heels are Jessica Simpson from Macy's.

Hopefully more posts to come soon!

Mani Monday

Since there was no school today (Yay President's Day!!) my best friend Vicky and I spent the day together. First lunch, then shopping, then manicures! We both opted for natural colors. Mine with a little sparkle and hers with a little shine :) We love them!

Polka Dots and Lace

Hi! That's me... Carmen :) So today was Sunday, which means time for church! This morning I was running late and needed something quick. I love polka dots! They are always in style; Fun, flirty, and easy to wear. I found this polka dot top at Burlington Coat Factory for super cheap! It's a silky sleeveless top that is easy to layer. The neck is already high so you don't have to worry about wearing another tank top underneath. Instead of your typical black skirt, I opted for a winter white lace skirt. Here's a great tip when wearing white: Wear a black slip underneath and you won't be able to see through it! I found this skirt at SteinMart. I love texture and especially lace. Its very feminine and dainty, and can easily dress up any outfit. Black and white was all over the runway at NY Fashion Week recently, and I am definitely ready for that trend! And to give it a pop of color, I wore a pink sweater from NY&Company... my all time favorite store!

I also wore my favorite black heels, by Gianni Bini. They always add a little sparkle to whatever I'm wearing! Every woman needs a great pair of black heels and these are all that and more!

This fun charm watch is also from NY&Company. I thought the pearls worked well with the polka dots.
Well, off to bed for tonight fashionista friends! Tomorrow is President's Day which means no school for me! Until next time!

I finally did it!

I finally did it! For months now I've been wanting to start my own blog and now, I finally did it! I'm pretty excited about it too! I've been wanting a place to share my love of fashion and here it is. But not only am I wanting to share my love of fashion, but how to do it modestly. 1 Timothy 2:9 says that women should adorn themselves in modest apparel. But does being modest mean dressing ugly or boring? Of course not! It just means being decent and keeping yourself covered. Being a child of the Most High means that we are royalty. And being royalty, we must dress as such. In this blog, I hope to be able to give fashion tips, trends, and places to find modest clothing. I will also throw in scriptures, and other encouraging messages because everyone needs a little happiness in their day. "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30
