Lace, Orange, and LV

As I started writing this post, I realized… it's been two weeks since I've posted anything! I can't believe I've let this much time pass between posts! It has definitely been busy, but don't worry, I haven't quit or disappeared. Just took a little break :)

Our church choir has started a new thing. Instead of wearing robes, we coordinate colors. Yesterday's colors were white, brown or gray, khaki, and orange. Here's what I came  up with…

I've worn this shirt before, here, but this time, I decided to tuck it in. I've never been one to tuck in my shirts, but after this outfit, I think I might try it more often.

This fabulous lace skirt is from Stein Mart. I'm telling you ladies… if you need a skirt, look no further than Stein Mart! They have some pretty fabulous stuff! My gold/nude heels are Gianni Bini from Dillards. Nude colored shoes are a great way to elongate your legs. And a shorty like me needs that!

I noticed that I never have purses in my postings but that is for a reason. I love purses but I can't stand changing them. I know people who change them with each outfit and I wish I had the patience for that, but I don't. This Louis Vuitton is my baby right now. My husband bought it for my birthday last June and I have been using it since then. Good quality purses will last a LOONG time versus a new cheap purse that breaks every month.

Belts are also something that make a big difference. I hope to do a post soon on different sized belts, what they are for, and the difference they make. This particular one is from Target.

Pattern Mixing

So, if you haven't heard, one of the trends this spring is pattern mixing. I've been on the fence about it because it comes close to looking like you got dressed in the dark. But, I've seen some pretty amazing posts like this one from Serena over at The Serena Saga and this one from Chioma at Chioma's Evolution of Style. They inspired me to finally try it. Now this outfit is just a baby step since I only mixed two patterns but I think the two patterns look great together! I apologize in advance because the pictures were taken in about 10 minutes and I was absolutely exhausted! So there are not very many, needless to say.

I know, I know, the boots aren't very "springy" but the day that I wore this outfit, it was 20 degrees when I woke up. It had been 80 the day before. So I HAD to wear boots and leggings, it was freezing! Our weather can't make up it's mind!

What do you think of pattern mixing? Like it? Love it? Afraid of it? What patterns do you think look good together?

Little Mrs. Sunshine

So today was warm and sunny and so was my outfit! I've featured this same shirt in a different post about color blocking, but I had to wear it again with this skirt. The color matches perfectly! This shirt is amazing by the way. It is soft and flowy; a great material for a hot day. It's on sale right now at Old Navy, although I couldn't find this particular color anymore.

The skirt is also from Old Navy. It's on sale right now for $15 and comes in many different color combinations. It is made of a stretchy jersey material and is kind of tight. I went a size up from what I normally wear and it fits great. Find it HERE!!!

Now about these shoes… as a teacher, I am on my feet all day long! But with these shoes on, my feet feel amazing at the end of the day! The brand is called Nurture and I got mine at Dillards. Some of them are "granny" looking but then they have these adorable ones with jewels and flowers, like these. Buy a pair and your feet will thank you! It's like walking on pillows all day!

Be blessed and put a little sunshine in someone's day!

Resurrection Sunday

Happy Resurrection Sunday!! It's been a wonderful day filled with family, friends, but most of all, Jesus! I hope everyone had a blessed day! Here are some pictures from my day. The first is a picture of me, my husband, and my baby, Elvis on Easter morning. We took family pictures at church, so of course, we had to match! The middle picture is my morning and evening outfits. The other picture is me and my niece, Amber at church this evening. I hope your day was as blessed as mine was!
